The FloriadeRadar also mapped new posts onVerbeterdebuurt (Improve the neighourhood), a Dutch social platform that “unites citizens and local government by offering an easy way to improve the neighbourhood”. Internationally there are more and older/better examples of such problem-reporting websites, such as FixMyStreet in the UK andSeeClickFix in the US, where residents literally map their problems and ideas which are communicated to local government. Walkonomics aims to rate the pedestrian-friendliness of every street in the world using an app. Although a large number of the reported problems are indeed being ‘fixed’, the input from residents is mostly limited to annoying potholes, broken streetlights and other minor problems.
